What Is It?
A non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured, sick, oiled, and orphaned native wild animals.
Help Needed:
Care for animals, help with community education or special events, or collect needed supplies. Please contact the Center for COVID-related updates.

Minimum Age to Volunteer
16
Time Commitment
The Center has no minimum weekly hour requirement, but each volunteer must commit to at least six hours during a six month period.
Training Needed
Each youth volunteer (ages 16-17) must submit an application (and $25 fee), attend a 2-hour orientation, and attend a hands-on training session in the direct animal care area of his/her choice.
Help Needed

DIRECT ANIMAL CARE
Assist with animal handling, food preparation, feeding, and cleaning.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Assist with onsite and outreach educational presentations. Volunteers must have a minimum of 20 hours in a direct animal care area to be considered for this opportunity.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Assist with special events such as public animal releases and fundraisers.

DONATE NEEDED SUPPLIES
The Center’s online wish list includes specialty seeds, Science Diet AD canned food, Pedialyte, paper towels, 33 gallon outdoor trash bags, latex gloves (medium & large), and other items.
The Center also maintains an Amazon wish list.

DONATE NEWSPAPERS
The Center welcomes donated newspapers. Please remove the shiny or slick pages because they don’t absorb well and some inks can be harmful.
Newspapers should be folded in half and stored flat in a box or bag (not rolled), so that they will lie flat in the kennels.

Eagle: Turner S. (Troop 642) built two large raccoon habitats and 24 flying squirrel boxes. (2016)
Eagle: Nathan M. (Troop 642) built squirrel release cages and owl boxes. (2014)
Eagle: Andy K. (Troop 11) built walk-in bird houses. (2013)
Eagle: Several scouts built new squirrel release cages. (2012)
Eagle: Gil P. donated three flight cages. After volunteers constructed the framework, the Scouts moved sand and gravel into the bases and helped attach the hundreds of slats on the cages. (2007)
