CORE PROGRAM VOLUNTEER
Core Program Volunteers participate in group mentoring and other activities during a set after-school program schedule from September through April. This volunteer option requires a weekly commitment for a minimum of one academic semester (fall and/or spring, though volunteers are highly encouraged to continue for a full academic year to build a better relationship with their students and increase their own skills and effectiveness). Meetings take place after school, generally between 4 PM and 6 PM.

SUMMER PROGRAM FOR GLOBAL LEARNERS JUNIOR COUNSELOR
In this program, also known as “Summer PAIR,” middle-school-aged refugee students explore Houston, take part in STEM projects, play games, meet new people, practice English, and develop academic and social skills. Counselors help out and serve as role models, promoting good behavior, learning, and fun. Commitment is for 3 weeks in July, Monday-Friday, 10 AM-2 PM.

PAIR is such a great organization! Working with the kids is really fun – I definitely recommend becoming an after-school mentor/tutor for the kids.
