MOODY GARDENS SAVY (SOCIETY FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF VOLUNTEER YOUTH)
What Is It?: A summer program that gives teen volunteers an opportunity to help Moody Gardens, a nonprofit educational destination, while gaining experience in a variety of career fields, including biology and education.
Help Needed: SAVY volunteers help staff with various duties and responsibilities, help educate visitors, and learn about a variety of career fields such as biology and education. Please contact SAVY for COVID-related updates.
Minimum Age to Volunteer: 14. Maximum age is 17.
The SAVY program is designed to be “an enriching program that will challenge participants mentally, physically, and socially, regardless of sex, color, or creed.” Volunteers help Moody Gardens by educating visitors and assisting staff with various duties, while learning about a variety of career fields, including biology and education, and gaining experience for future employment.
