GENERAL BEAUTIFICATION / CLEANUP VOLUNTEER

Choose a project from the online calendar on the website, register online, contact the event organizer, and show up on the project day.  (Note: as of March 2020, the online calendar isn’t available because projects have been postponed.) Projects include neighborhood cleanups, working on community gardens and nature preserves, enhancing school playgrounds, and similar activities.

KEEP HOUSTON BEAUTIFUL DAY VOLUNTEER (APRIL)

This city-wide service day, an annual event since 1987, involves many projects throughout Houston, and thousands of volunteers. Volunteers choose the projects they wish to work on.

ORGANIZE YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP

Keep Houston Beautiful has created a Clean Neighborhoods Handbook to help volunteers organize and conduct cleanups, with step-by-step guidance and useful forms.  Cleanup organizers can borrow tools and supplies from Keep Houston Beautiful’s warehouse.  More information is on the organization’s website.
