Help Needed:
General park care such as weeding, planting, caring for picnic tables and benches, and repairing trails, or helping with special events. Please contact the Conservancy for COVID-related updates.
Details
Minimum Age to Volunteer
Varies. Job shadow participants must be 13-17. Special event volunteers may need to be at least 16. In general, applicants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult, or a parent/guardian must give written permission to participate.
Time Commitment
Most projects are scheduled in 3-hour increments, such as 9 AM to noon.
Training Needed
None; the Conservancy will provide any training needed. All volunteers must fill out an application and meet with the volunteer coordinator to review their interests, skills, and availability.

GENERAL PARK CARE
Volunteer duties may include weeding and mulching plant beds, restoring picnic tables and benches, planting and watering trees, removing invasive plants, and/or cleaning and repairing trails. For more information or to apply, visit the Conservancy website.

EVENT SUPPORT
The Conservancy’s major annual events include the Dog Walk in March, the Hermann Park Kite Festival, Park to Port Bike Ride and Run in the Park. The Conservancy counts on volunteers to help with gift bag preparation, event check-in, and post-event clean up. For more information or to apply, visit the Conservancy website.

SUMMER YOUTH JOB SHADOW PROGRAM
This program is designed for students who are looking to gain valuable job skills. Participants “shadow” staff members around the Park to help and learn what it takes to maintain the Park on a daily basis. Participants are expected to complete 20 hours of service within a three month period, and must be 13-17 years old. For more information, email volunteer@hermannpark.org.
