
EAST SPRING BRANCH FOOD PANTRY
What Is It?: A volunteer-run organization that provides food free of cost to people who need assistance and live in zip codes 77043, 77055, 77080, and 77024.
Help Needed: Sort food, stock shelves, unload deliveries, help give out holiday bags, collect food to donate, and other tasks. Please contact the Food Pantry for COVID-related updates.
Minimum Age to Volunteer: 12 (middle school). Middle school students are welcome to sort food. High school students may assist guests once they have had experience volunteering in other areas of the pantry.
Help Needed
OCCASIONAL VOLUNTEERS
On Monday, Thursday, & Friday mornings volunteers may help unload deliveries. Students are welcome to help sort and stock on Fridays after school. Other projects include driving to pick up food (pickup truck needed) at various locations, and substituting for regular volunteers.
SPECIAL PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
Help with special programs such as Thanksgiving Dinner Distribution and other events.
REGULAR VOLUNTEERS
Experienced volunteers perform tasks such as greeting guests, interviewing guests, and accompanying guests through the pantry. The pantry is open on Monday 11–2, Tuesday 11-2, Thursday 11–2 and 5–7 PM, Saturday 10–noon. On Thursday mornings, volunteers accept deliveries of food and stock shelves.
COLLECT FOOD TO DONATE
The pantry welcomes donations of non-perishable food and other supplies to share with its guests. Please contact Mary White for more details.
