
BO’S PLACE
What Is It?: A “bereavement center offering grief support services to children, ages 3 to 18, and their families who have experienced the death of a child or an adult in their immediate family, as well as programs for grieving adults.”
Help Needed: Help serve potluck meals that families provide, or bring and serve a meal; help supervise children in the playground. Contact organization for changes due to COVID-19.
Minimum Age to Volunteer: 13-15, depending on the project.
Help Needed
KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS
Help set up a potluck buffet style meal, prepare leftover food for families to take home, and tidy the kitchen. For age 15+.
TEEN PLAYGROUND MONITORS
Help watch children who arrive early for dinnertime support groups “while they play basketball, jump rope, or create an artistic chalk masterpiece on the sidewalk before dinner.” For ages 13-18.
MEAL SPONSORS (GROUP PROJECT)
Provide and serve a meal for grief support families or participants (60-90 individuals). These meals are a special treat and provide an alternative to the traditional potluck style meal at Bo’s Place. Meal sponsors may also decorate the dining area for special occasions or holidays, or prepare goodie bags for the children. For ages 15+.
