About

What Is It?

A transitional home for women coming out of incarceration. “Through comprehensive programs and partnerships, Angela House residents are given the opportunity and tools to maintain a positive lifestyle.”

Help Needed:

Projects could include helping organize the clothing room or other areas, tutoring women in GED topics or basic computer skills, helping with special events or holiday decorations, helping with administrative tasks, or collecting needed items.

Details

Minimum Age to Volunteer

14 with a teacher/parent/guardian, and 16 and up without an adult

Time Commitment

Flexible.  Volunteers are welcome, whether they can come once or regularly.

Yes

Training Needed

None; any training needed for specific projects will be provided.

Help Needed

HELP WITH VARIOUS PROJECTS

Past volunteer projects have included helping organize the clothing room and donations; tutoring women in GED topics and basic computer skills; helping with special events or holiday decorations; gardening; and helping with paperwork, filing, and other administrative tasks.

COLLECT NEEDED ITEMS

Needs include new, packaged women’s cotton underwear; new women’s socks; 45 gallon trash bags; laundry detergent, zip-close food storage bags (gallon & quart); pick-a-size paper towels; twin comforters; bath towels; and washcloths.  A current list of needs is here.

Examples of past Scout projects

Eagle: Designed and built a crushed stone pathway using bricks recycled from another part of the property.

Eagle: planted a courtyard garden.
