PECKERWOOD GARDEN CONSERVATION FOUNDATION
What Is It?: A nonprofit foundation formed to develop, maintain and preserve the land and facilities of Peckerwood Garden, “one of America’s most remarkable garden environments, an award-winning, beautiful space that is also a living laboratory to learn about rare and unusual plants.”
Help Needed: Help with in the garden, in the office, or at special events. Garden assistance could include planting, weeding, clearing invasive plants, and other tasks.
Minimum Age to Volunteer: 13. Each volunteer under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, or must provide a waiver signed by a parent.
HELP KEEP GARDEN BEAUTIFUL
Teen volunteers are welcome to help with with cleaning, weeding, or other gardening tasks. Basic garden tools are all available and can be all be used, though a few, such as saws, require training or require an adult to be present. Any volunteer can choose to adopt an area and learn to care for it. Teens may also train to be docents if they want to work long term.
HELP IN THE OFFICE OR WITH SPECIAL EVENTS
Teen volunteers may help with organizing or administrative tasks, or help with special events such as Open Days, lectures, and tours.
