HARBACH-RIPLEY URBAN FARM
What Is It?: A vegetable garden, in an area of Houston where fresh produce is scarce, that gives local residents the resources to grow their own fresh produce and teaches them about nutrition.
Help Needed: Help maintain the garden and assist with other projects.
Minimum Age to Volunteer: 15 independently; younger children may volunteer but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
HELP MAINTAIN THE GARDEN
The area around Harbach-Ripley Neighborhood Center is a food desert – a place where fresh produce may not be available for residents, and where fast food may be their only option, so the garden is an important resource. Volunteers help maintain the garden and/or work on other projects. Please contact Cassie or Krystina (below) for more details.
