CHRISTMAS BOXES OF BLESSING – CHRIST THE KING PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

What Is It?: A program that “aims to meet the challenges of food insecure families with dignity and hope.”  It fills more than 5,000 Boxes of Blessing with enough food to feed a family for one week during the Christmas holiday. Partner schools and ministries distribute the boxes to families that they work with all year.

Help Needed: High school & college age volunteers assemble the cardboard boxes during one evening in November, and 600 volunteers of all ages fill the boxes in December.

Minimum Age to Volunteer: None

ASSEMBLE BOXES

High school and college age students assemble the cardboard Boxes of Blessing from 6-8:30 PM during one evening in November (with pizza served at 5:30 PM). Registration is not necessary.

FILL BOXES WITH FOOD

In addition to filling boxes, tasks include crafts, line quality assurance, pallet team, parking lot attendant, photography, post-assembly clean-up (11:30 AM-2 PM), registration, trash pickup, and welcome/care team. “This is a tangible way to demonstrate the love of Christ and truly get into the Christmas spirit. Invite your friends, neighbors, groups and organizations to join us. A light breakfast (donuts and fruit) and lunch (pizza) will be available.”
